The Hot Yoga Om Studio in downtown Fort Walton Beach is home to hundreds of students who enter our sanctuary to relax, rejuvenate and restore. Because we offer hot yoga classes for all fitness levels, our classes tend to be quite popular and fill up quickly. Here are some tips to success for planning your hot yoga experience to be the best it can be for you and others. A little pre-planning can go a long way to a great hot yoga class.
Make sure to bring your yoga mat and a large towel to cover your yoga mat. Our students love our far-infrared heating panels that provide sauna-like heat in a hypoallergenic environment; however you will still sweat and purify your body so a towel is extremely important for our hot yoga classes. No worries if you forget anything – our hot yoga studio sells yoga mats and towels at a reasonable price.
We also recommend that you bring a small towel to wipe the sweat from your face and body during your hot yoga class. If you have make up and/or face moisturizer, it would be best to clean your face before your hot yoga class so nothing drips in your eyes as you sweat.
In terms of hot yoga class attire, less is better. You want to wear breathable yoga clothes, preferably short sleeve shirts or tank tops and shorts or pants above the knee. Also during the winter time, you might want to bring a dry change of clothes to change into before you leave the hot yoga studio.
Remember that this is your practice and every hot yoga practice is different. If you feel dizzy, feel free to take a child’s pose or excuse yourself from the hot yoga class until you feel better. Our hot yoga instructors are experts at teaching all different levels of yoga students and we are here to make your practice the best of you.
- We offer a variety of hot yoga classes throughout the day. You must pre-register for hot yoga classes to have a mat space held for you until 7 minutes before class time. The easiest way to pre-register is by downloading our Hot Yoga Om app on iTunes.
- Walk in students may take available mat space 5 minutes before the hot yoga class time, first come, first serve.
- If you pre-register and miss your window, missing your class, your name will be removed from the class list and your hot yoga class package will be re-applied, or your drop in fee will be held in your account.
- Try not to eat heavily 2 hours prior to your hot yoga class. Also, it’s so important to bring plenty of water. Make sure to hydrate before, during and after your hot yoga class
